Anthony Creek Hikes (NF-7312 Road)
High Mountain Loop (Road 700 hike)
Easy Hike, 4.3 km loop. Short hike on a drivable loop, but scenic views make this worth walking. Take US 30 towards Haines, turn left on Anthony Lake Hwy, continue about 28 km, turn right on NF 7312 and follow for about 6.6 km, turn left on High Mountain Road (NFD 4380) follow for about 4.6 km to road 700. Park and enjoy the stroll.
Huckleberry Breezeway
Medium hike, 9.7 km loop. This follows a rough but drivable road. Take US 30 towards North Powder, turn left on River Ln in North Powder, turn right on Tucker Flat Rd, turn left right after cattle guard on NF-4330, this becomes NF-7312. The directions to High Mountain turn off can be followed but continue on NF-7312. Pretty hike through the woods.
Sand Flats
Easy Hike, 4.8 km round trip. Short hike up an old road. The end is a large meadow that used to be all sandy from mine and river wash out. The sand has disappeared over time. Take US 30 towards Haines, turn left on Anthony Lake Hwy, continue about 28 km, turn right on NF 7312, continue about 6 km the hiking road is the 1st road on the left after crossing a wood bridge over Anthony Creek.
